100 ways to get you out of your shit life (exaggerated)

i just picked up a book yesterday. and im hooked to it. it's wife's... but it seemed untouched. so im gonna let myself digging into it for a couple of days before returning it to her. heh!

after reading a few chapters, i found that this book does really tell how a person should lead his/her life. and i cant imagine a person who reads this and has no effects on him/her or whatsoever....

i have to highlight this from the book regarding simplifying your life. its about multitasking! combining little things that you need to do in one shot! this brings me to the Kaizan's practise. Its productive! and it works! and the best part, it didnt pile shits up at the end of the day!

im so in love with the book. ooh.. no wonder. the author's Chandler... ok i know. not chandler bing. just some convention speaker from Arizona.
i'll tell you more when im done with the book. this is so holy comoly...

the thing with self-help books and how the authors make money goes something like this. personal opinion, so don't lash out at me just yet.

1. People are miserable and need someone/something to guide them (all if not most of the time).
2. People will feel "motivated" after reading their first self help book.
3. People will attempt to do something with their lives for a while and then eventually, most people will just give up on them cause they're not used to change and too comfortable with their comfort-zone.
4. People will feel that something is still missing in their lives and they will start hunting for the new self help book that will supposedly help them.
5. People will eventually find that new-age self help book through their own research or through others and start reading that one and get engrossed.
6. People will still find something missing in that book and will continue reading other self help books which all say the same, if not similar, things in different methods.
7. Authors know this and they keep releasing "new" or "modified" editions of their old books with "fresh" content. This is the effect of being spellbound by a book or someone's words. This is why we say some books are friggin' awesome and it becomes addictive, of sorts.
8. People will usually never do whatever the books tell them to do cause at the end of the day, they just want to feel good about themselves knowing that they have read these books. (THERE ARE EXCEPTIONS TO THESE CASES)
10. Authors get richer. People are still confused on how to be happy/successful/rich/famous/good in bed, etc etc.
11. Repeat steps 1 - 10.

So, just read ONE book, take the basics and DO SOMETHING with your life. I say it as such cause I have walked down that path before. Word up to that.

Cheers.

hey bro, u really do can come out with all these reasons... well!. I do wonder, would it be an embarrasment for one to be caught reading one in the train?

anyways, for this particular book, i do feel good if i know that the listed things are told to which i have practised. and those which are new to me, i will try to see if it does make an impact.

apart from that, its quite fun to read these junkies.

no, it wouldn't be an embarrassment at all. i have seen many people reading such stuff in the buses and trains. no harm reading anything actually. just got to learn to take everything with a pinch of salt.

well, once you're done reading, give me a summary so i can see if there is anything i can take from this book that isn't already mentioned in others. happy reading!

sure thing buddy...

i'm sure some would be too paiseh to admit they are reading these sort... dont be surprised. when i placed this book on my table yesterday, my HR manager was asking me if i really need that? And she even tell me that she can give me 5 pointers that will change my life totally. I was stuck at the first question. Which was .. "Iskandar... what makes you really happy?"

Taking too long to answer, she left my cubicle. idiot...

i guess her question really has no one perfect or correct answer, so asking that question is a waste of time.

she left your cubicle cause maybe she realized she being out of your sight is what truly makes you happy? heh.
